Tis The Season

we are risen

the animus
of our lives,
boxed shelved faced
fronted gimmicked
disposable new
improved door-busted
values;

praise the lord
along the aisles
between shelves
of pietistic fervor,

for we are risen
and paid for:

the season of
our cross to
bear.

  1. oh my....point well made
But just remember under all that fury for stuff and bargains are people just wanting
    something meaningful in their lives...
    if only for a night

  2. Rick,
boxed in as a prelude for Christmas sale? Sure is readying for the big rush.

  7. Excellent. It's always a struggle to embrace simplicity this time of year.
