Poem. A Stream of Thought Tonight...

non reflections
at mid-night
(a stream of thought)

have we met
this color black,
the air and sky
lightless as night -
as our forgotten
first hello; have

words and actions
bled potential
futures from life

like rainwater
pouring into
river and sea,
along gutters
aside trodden
roads;

does conversation
labor for peace
and sanctity in
our eyes, looking
looking through
each other's
widowed souls?

darkness is
odd comfort;
silence unexpected
beauty of
soundless
expectations,

you
and
me.

MagpieTales 178: There and Back. Again.

fashion whore
(Response to L)

prodigal roads -
enticing
lush
ever so
grass-is-greener -

bundled you into
an ideal of heaven
and off you went.

what you found
is what we all do:

secrets lifted on
barefoot winds,
curbside feasts,

edged and fed
before the
master's door
on a party plate
of silver moons.

you are shed
now of pretense,
but do you see
clearly?  rootless

isn't synonymous
with wanderlust.

how daring to
burn through your
stylish facade,
your pretense,
your dreams,

and all your
whores who were
never rootless.

wanderlust isn't
their style.

A Comment I Posted On A Facebook Page....

This was a comment I posted on a Facebook page
this week about a story I don't care to give more
coverage to here.

The point is, much, if not most, of what people post
on social media is nonsense.  Many times, much, if
not most of the "serious" issues people post there is
inaccurate, misleading, out of context or simply a
downright lie.

Be careful what you believe.

Crashing of Waves

promise(d)

called my
name,
someone
did
over water
and land

I raised a
glass in
passing,
 a toast
in waiting;

ships passed
on the crest,
took flight,

sea foam
and flame
to blame.
