A Personal Favorite Rerun

through a hollow

I will
touch you
when my arm
grows longer

or I taller

or you
closer than now

you will
touch me each time
your voice speaks
within earshot

or through
a hollow of memories
searching for

escape.

Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 63: Broken Glass

broken glass

a vaudeville dance
of broken glass
in the spotlight, and
there you were:  a

constant of
changing futures.

if  I could remember
just one expression
of that light,
I could forget
your face.

through diffused
windowed fabric,
morning patterns itself
quietly on my wall.

that's all the light
I need to guide
this affair.

Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 62: Break Fast.

breakfast:
the aftermath

in the aftermath
of your calling, I

searched for reasons
and found nothing:

the separation,
your silence,
the mystery of us  - all

borne on words
of your sudden
voice.

it's the aftermath
of every calamity
that holds our eyes
to the scene

and always against
our better judgement.

gentle kiss

one
gentle kiss
upon your naked shoulder
paints a thousand words of love
on the canvas flesh of
one gentle
kiss.

mist fell

what felt like cool fog mist
fell on us like stone clouds.

Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 61: Lips Sweeter Than Wine?

mark the edge

dawn
replays my
boujoule fantasy

your
burgundy lips
mark the edge
of longing.

Inspiration From Music And Art

beauty and foreboding

for beauty and foreboding
raptured now we are,
but for how long?

ink fades the papered notes -
that melody you whispered
is the ringing of my soul and

darkness over beds
that we sweltered into
and out

of love.

Our Past And Present

water under the bridge

as it
flows
away,

it
arrives:

there is
no
past tense
in a
river.

fronting night

fear
not
darkness,

rather
fronting
night
with
half

heart.

Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 59: Rain On My Window

Forgive this replay of a poem and cell phone photo I took two years ago sitting in my car, in addition to this week's photo prompt from Tess.   The poem was written back then in the true spirit of "efficient agony."  Smiles!

distance between

what is
the distance between
love and indifference?

the time spent thinking
of someone other
than yourself?

of the length
of raindrops
streaking down
a window?
