Inspiration: A Morning Drive To Work

carrion call

highway graveyards
of deer leaping into traffic:
carrion call of species' clashing

nature cannot compete with
man-the-beast

between crow and vulture
who can say for certain
that death is inevitable
as rubber meets pavement,
a never ending
machination of movement?

  3. This is a striking picture, and a striking poem.

@ Brian Miller — I think the photo has been photoshopped (but before Rick found it). None of the tags seem to actually follow the contours of the body.

  4. I just got a notice from our little town saying to driving carefully because of the deer. They say that an average of 56 deer are killed on the roadways of Dublin, Ohio.
