On Life, On Afterlife

continuity equation 




his ashes 
were scattered 
at sea, and 


charred timbers 
of home 
          gathered 
          on the 
          jet stream - 


circled earth - his 
face a thousand
times framed on 
memory walls;  children
grow 


and become 
timbers of lives
always on 
display for 
posterity, 


always forgotten
in name, in 
time.

  1. If I feel 'forgotten by god' in life, what chance do I have in death?
    As you say, everything passes in time, even most names. But Suz is right insomuch as if one was to ask "What were the names of Tutankahamun's slaves?" I would have to answer "God knows!"
