the covenant

let me be
your protector
and guide you
through life.  take
my hand,
he proudly said.

let me guide you
to the chair, and
steady your legs.  take
my hand,
she gently whispered.

  1. That was very nice
    I like the way the title bore some weight
    ...and the subtle change of narrator
    and time
    Thank you for your nice comment on my blog

  2. Beautiful. There's something so timeless and universal about growing old with someone. (not that I would know, of course, since I am ever-so-young) hee
