At Any Given Moment

eye
of the
beholder

of what
was said
to be
less than
stellar
I see
beyond the
window:

                                 sun and
                                 breeze,
                                 and
                                 green;

                                 sounds
                                 of color
                                 clinging -

                                 clinging to
                                 the tenuous
                                 movement of
                                 "now"
                                 we try
                                 desperately
                                 to preserve.

  1. Last night, there was a large, colorful moth hanging on the shower curtain in my bathroom. The moth hid somewhere within the hour, but I found him in the bathroom sink this morning. I caught him up in a mason jar from that sink. Then I took him out and left him on the deck, near the purple irises. He flew off in a few moments. Both these poems of yours apply. Thank you, Rick.

    1. Well, sure. I can think of a couple of ways to preserve "now." But this is a "G" rated blog!
