My Aunt Jean Garner was a national award winning photographer in the 1960's, and has been an artist her entire life. She has created works in practically every art medium.
During my recent visit to Texas in May, my cousin Sharon, my Mother, and I took Aunt Jeanie to the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. It was a very pleasant field trip, and I hope to do it again with them later this year.
Here is a photo I took of Jeanie, and managed to get off a couple of these shots before Sharon and she moved to the next piece. I've been looking at this photo for several weeks now, wondering why I'm so
taken by it.
My Aunt will turn 91 in November. She is frail and can't walk much, but her mind is sharp and she is still a wealth of knowledge about art, artists, and stories about them!
