boo

Halloween tonight
was as it should be:

a windy chill,
the frantic scratching
of dead leaves
blowing through
trees;

amber street lamps
glowing dusky
below black
sky;

witches hats leaning,
bed sheets flowing,
angel wings flapping,

monsters in the wind
clustered tightly together
seeking treats -

and with
nervous laughter,
anticipating a
fright,

Boo Radley
just around the
corner.
