January Poised

mid-winter waiting 


forest is the snow now. 
spine, bone and outline 
are silhouette against nature. 

what is living I see as dead,
faithfully waiting against 
changes fathomed, unseen.

my footsteps shatter silence 
on delicate flakes of ice.  I'll 
wake the darkness for sunrise.

Barnstorming Western New York

Barns have stories and lifetimes to tell.  Here are a few I've met during the past couple of weeks.

The first six of these photos were taken today, but all have been taken between Kendall, NY to the west of Rochester and Pultneyville, NY to the east near the shores of Lake Ontario.
