common thread
a common thread
ties our lives as one:
fused with vision,
our past and future
explode with pride,
one day
out of hundreds,
one voice
out of freedom.

Great piece, words used to maximum effect with great power.
ReplyDeleteOh my...that was super!
ReplyDeleteone voice out of freedom
that was one firecracker of a poem for the 4th
one voice out of freedom- love this Magpie!
ReplyDeletei like the visual emphasis in color to go along with the theme! nice job
ReplyDeleteI love how you used the common thread, like the one that weaves these little firecrackers together. So clever and so lovely. Happy 4th to you and yours, Rick!
ReplyDeletean extraordinarily cool take on that photo!
ReplyDeleteYour take on Willow's photo is one of the most unique and meaningful ~ nice how you saw the image and thought of the material tying it all together.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and marvellously crafted ode to your country, Rick, it was a joy to read :)
ReplyDeletegreat connections!
ReplyDeletehappy 4th!
you have caught the moment wonderfully with the glory of a full flag of patriotism... and your format of color fonts makes it all the more so powerful yet subtle... i gotta admit i have seen numerous american flags flying so beautifully... it is a touching sight... especially so now that california will put back the 9/11 flag mural painted and recently covered up by the state of ca b/c they considered it grafitte along the hwyfireworks
ReplyDeletea wonderful take on the prompt...framed it nicely in th colors as well...it only takes one...
ReplyDeleteSuccinct and I loved these lines fused with vision,
ReplyDeleteour past and future
explode with pride... and the red white and blue colour font! Very clever indeed!
Christine
Terrific!
ReplyDeleteI love the certainty of this..quite accomplished!!
ReplyDeleteRick, very nicely done. It's a pity that some are only able to see us tied together on particular days. Otherwise it is seen as as country divided. I saw a notice of this division in the Bastrop Republican Hdqtrs window which I photographed & will probably write about soon.
