The photo above comes from "willow" who is posting photographs each week on her blog and encouraging anyone to write a short story or poem about it. Her blog is "magpie tales", and it's listed on my blog list below my profile. You will find links to other writers and bloggers there, and will no doubt find some wonderful writing, art and photography for your enjoyment. Below is my small contribution of poetry for her photograph.
face with no name
a wreath of glory
embossed its face
with no name to
claim victory:
a chalice ready to
be palled with pride
yet poured
over and again
with
humility.

Rick, this is simple and beautiful. Thanks for jumping into Magpie Tales. I'll be looking forward to reading more of your poetry.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I really, really liked your poem. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Pure poetry, lovely. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletePS: What a great blog - I've enjoyed reading your poetry. Thanks for your post/note... Yes, the graveyards, my favorite places to go when I am out walking - never anyone there [wink wink] and I love taking photos of the old stones. Our town celeberated it's 250th birthday last year, so many of my photos were used for the various booklets that came out for the event.
ReplyDeleteHey, Rick, I just posted a new photo prompt on Magpie Tales. Sorry you got in on the tail end of last weeks round. Thought I'd give you a heads up!
