you wrote of
longing for
ancient beauty
and brick roads...
for thousand year-old
buildings teeming
with life...
about being seduced by
understated gentility
and finding your
fit there.
back in the
mundane of daily effort
you talk of sharing your
wanderlust sensibilities
with a soul
like yours...
you tell your tales
having never noticed
the thousand year-old
window to my soul
that opened to you
centuries
ago.

I am a misfit in this century. Sigh.
ReplyDeleterick - you nailed the whole piece. beautifully written and illustrated! steven
ReplyDelete@ Willow: You're anything but! You strike me as a wise soul no matter what century you're in!
ReplyDelete@ Steven: Thank you, Steven. This actually was borne from a text message I received last week. My response just couldn't fit into a phone. And it can hardly remain in my heart.....
