Magpie Tales 181: Random Redundancies in Abstraction
random redundancies
in abstraction
a geomancer divines what already is,
specified and un-
new age in old age is redundant,
chic notwithstanding;
'take me as I am', also is,
for I already am;
the mindset, 'this is the new that'
reduces both to each,
so impel me with manic laughter
for these verbal dances:
'repeat after me'
'weather the storm'
'it is what it is'
'double-edged sword'
'and so it goes' : I'm a wanderer
among vagabonds,
redundant
all.

In the circle they dance... and dance... and dance... and again.
ReplyDeleteThis touches deep, and true.
manic laughter, verbal dances... Very interesting.
ReplyDeleteneedless to say
ReplyDeleteif you will
amazing
Perhaps once upon a time these redundancies were for emphasis, but bunched together in your poem they seem absurd indeed! Wait--Now I will have to check for RR as well as VT and SP! I think I have them winding through everything, especially cliche.
ReplyDeleteThese opposites have tended to cancel each other out,leaving us with ...................................
ReplyDeleteTake me as I am, for I already am...striking pivotal line...
ReplyDeleteI'm all for manic laughter...
ReplyDeleteA riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside of an enigma. Very well done!
ReplyDeleteRick you dance in balance and deeply felt
