Magpie Tales 180: Past and Present Tense
future now/then
when fame has gathered you into its bundle,
and eyes have read your mind in letters;
after apprenticeship marks minions by your words,
there will remain a face of mystery,
legacy aside.
nothing soulful escapes furrowed views,
you in stoic foreverness and staid:
that is
the confident plea I desire for my walk
into winter's monochrome read -
a chapter begun and ended by
chance.

...A chapter begun and ended by chance..feels like very good poetry to me...
ReplyDeleteAnd chance is ever the artist's ally...
ReplyDeleteOne word....AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteexistentialism
I sure hope that the events of our lives are not governed by mere chance.
ReplyDeletePacked with ideas and meaning.
ReplyDeletethere will remain a face of mystery,
ReplyDeletelegacy aside.
into winter's monochrome read -
those are two of my favorites. Seems to me each line is a pondering in and of itself.
so much to like in this one but, the last two lines are my fav..all by chance..and we hope chance brings good things.
ReplyDeleteTime and chance beautifully captured in this one Rick! Lovely writing as always! ":-)
