iris blue
I dare not
blink, iris blue,
for
spring
colors fade
so quickly.

A lovely tribute to Spring in all its glory ... ah, we are lucky to experience it in living color!
ReplyDeleteHow very true Helen... we are so very lucky to have sight to behold the colours & beauty of life!
ReplyDeletebrilliant poem. it will be scorching soon enough, enjoy that color.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful poem -- you painted my day with the colors of seeing the divine in nature.
ReplyDeleteLoved this magpie you wrote,
Joanny
this is so strikingly true, their beauty last but for a moment, and then they are gone. your magpie tale was so touching, thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Rick! I like how you tied both irises to springtime. Clever.
ReplyDeleteTime is definitely fleeting..we must grab the beauty when we can!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant!
ReplyDeleteEye agree. Irises are some of my favorites!
ReplyDeletere your question over at my place, Rick -- I've never seen blue-eyed grass for sale in a nursery -- it's a wilding. It looks so much like ordinary grass except when it blooms (and even then the blooms are minute) that it wouldn't look all that interesting. Better perhaps as a specimen plant,
ReplyDeletecute,
ReplyDeletelovely image!
Happy Tuesday!

ReplyDeletedare not blink...yes that fast
