Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 84: Laugher In The Rain

Nevermore

the raven
knows.

ravens always
know

                 when to
roost at
dusk;

                  why they
fly at
dawn;

                 how to
cast a rictus
mocking face
in the
storm.

  1. Ravens have a lot going for them. I like the way you made the raven the main character in your poem! They are 'knowing' birds, a bit eerie to me, in fact.

  2. They do seem like dark little jokers sometimes, don't they?

  8. Amazing how you take a macabre
    image, stirring and sexy, and extract
    the black heart of it, turning the dark
    into light, finding the magpie mocking
    in the steamy darkness. A fine piece.
