Magpie Tales Photo Prompt 52
old(er) house
across the road your hearth
seemed to peek around branches,
leaning in for a better view.
a head of white belies your
desire for summer's heat,
a barren tree the obstacle
to living free.

I like your positioning of the barren tree here, Rick. I had several shots of various angles, but liked the way the tree was off-centered, in this one, blocking the door.
ReplyDeletenot quite sure of the meaning but I like it. I think of nature and how it keeps changing and perhaps waiting for us to change as well.
ReplyDeletea head of white - nicely descriptive - finely tuned work!
ReplyDeletemm..love that last stanza...says much rick
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly not tabloid drivel, Rick
ReplyDeleteI love this, Rick. The branches leaning in for a better view and the head of white makes me take a closer look and yes, you are right! :) Well done!http://judyidliketosay.blogspot.com/2011/02/my-grandparents-live-in-elongated.html
ReplyDeleteSuccinctly spot on!
ReplyDeleteStrong poem - you have really pulled out the imagery.
ReplyDeleteI love that the house is so much itself..if it had a soul, it would be rather detached...
ReplyDeleteLike the way you see the tree as an obstacle!!
ReplyDeleteLovely. I also saw the tree as a barrier.
ReplyDeletegreat vision here! nice magging.
ReplyDeletegrand writing...
ReplyDeletekeep it up.
